Especially for myroughdraft, who was lamenting the lack of year round availability of macaroons, here are some vintage macaroon recipes. Now you can have them whenever you like! I was thinking that surely there ought to be a recipe for macaroons in one of my cookbooks, and I found not one but a whole bunch of them, from the 1951 edition of The Joy of Cooking by Irma S. Rombauer & Marion Rombauer Becker.
