Banana Butter

At the request of misstiajournal, here's the recipe for Banana Butter from Cookery in Colour - the crucial ingredient in the 'Banana Surprise' I posted earlier:

2 oz. butter
1 large banana
squeeze lemon juice

Cream the butter in a basin or on a saucer, and gradually mash the banana into this. Add a squeeze of lemon.

Simples!

This little booklet was published by and advertises a product called Vinol. I'm not positive about its exact vintage, but I believe it's from the 1920s.
