I'd like to say Happy Holidays to everyone on the list, whether you celebrate Christmas, Hannukah, Qwanza, Solstice, or just December; may it bring you everything you wish.

Thank you to everyone who has posted and commented to this community over the past year, making it such a fun place for tasty, wacky, and what-were-they-thinking recipes from years ago. And a very big thank-you to my co-moderator misstia, who works so hard to help keep the community moving along lively and vibrant- this comm wouldn't be even a third of what it is without her!

I look forward to all the fun we'll have here in 2009. Best wishes to everyone!

That response shows a nice sense of self-restraint.

I wonder if the problem wouldn't be solved by using a double boiler. Not having my own double boiler (too cheap to get one) I just put a metal mixing bowl over a deep pot of boiling water. Works fine and saves scorching delicate ingredients.

Yes, where else on the web would I find sharing my interest in recipes of this, er, sort.

Of course that neatly manages to mix up both this post and the chocolate sponge. Sigh, forgive me, Christmas eve is always like this for me.

Don't worry; I was able to follow! I think I at least need better cookware- my pots are extremely cheap; I need something that will spread the heat of the gas flame evenly. A double boiler (and your solution is awesome, BTW) is a great idea as well.
