Lardy cake and more

Thought these would fit well with this group. Most are from a 1960's recipe box I got at a thrift store. Definately unique anyway. I can't say I have got quite brave enough to try them yet however.

Also a 80's recipe for buttery cinnimon cake... which you can tell I have used many many times. It comes out great. It's from the Better Homes and Gardens All Time Favorite Cake and Cookie Recipes book.

And they're not kidding about being firm when grasping nettles. Been there, done that, ow.

What's nettle, anyway?
And I want to make the cheese and walnut pie.

Usually when I think of nettle I think of the Hans Christian Andersen story "The Wild Swans", where the princess had to weave coats of nettle to free her brothers, who had been turned into swans.

Nettle is a plant... often classed as a weed, though it's used in herbal medicine and some cooking. It's quite prickly to handle though which is why it warns to use gloves when picking.
Let me know if you do if it's any good... it sounded pretty good... except the nuts. Egg and cheese makes sense... I do that a lot... but walnuts in there? o-o
